The Second Seminar on "Human Computer Integration Management in the Algorithm Era" Was Successfully Held at Beijing Normal University

On November 16th, the second "Human Computer Integration Management in the Algorithm Era" seminar, hosted by BNUBS and organized by the Department of Human Resource Management of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Normal University, was successfully held at the Haidian Campus of Beijing Normal University. The seminar was grand in scale, including 49 scientific research institutions in China, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing Normal University, China Agricultural University, Central University of Finance and Economics, University of International Business and Economics, Capital University of Economics and Business, Hebei University of Technology, Shandong University, Southeast University, China Europe International Business School, Lingnan University of Hong Kong, Xijiao Liverpool University, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Overseas Chinese University, Shanxi University, Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, China Institute of Personnel Science, Beijing Administrative College, 29 companies, including ByteDance, Baidu, Kwai, CRRC Information Technology Co., Ltd., Kunlun Tiangong Technology Co., Ltd., Huabin Group, and a total of more than 320 experts and scholars. Practitioners attended the seminar. Associate Professor Xu Zhixing, Director of the Department of Human Resources Management at BNUBS, presided over the opening ceremony of the seminar.

Professor Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, delivered the opening speech. Qi Yudong first warmly welcomed the attending guests and talked about the profound changes brought by the algorithm era to enterprise management. Qi Yudong stated that with the rapid development of technology, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, human-machine integration has become the key to efficient management and innovation for future enterprises. At the same time, the significance of this seminar was fully affirmed, and finally, I wish the seminar a complete success.

The first half of the seminar was chaired by Associate Professor Ju Dong from BNUBS. Professor Zhao Shuming, Honorary Dean of the School of Business at Nanjing University and Dean of the Xingzhi Academy at Nanjing University, and Professor Li Ning, Director of the Department of Leadership and Organizational Management at Tsinghua University, delivered keynote speeches.

Zhao Shuming conducted in-depth discussions on the theme of "Research on Human Resource Data Analysis in the Digital Age". He emphasized the importance of human resource management in the digital economy era, especially in the process of enterprise digital transformation, which must adapt to new management methods and work models. Furthermore, from the perspective of data analysis, he elaborated on the core role of human resource data analysis in future management, including the evaluation of talent value, policy formulation, and other aspects. Li Ning gave a wonderful speech on the topic of "Generative Artificial Intelligence and Organizational Management Research". In his speech, Li Ning proposed three main research directions: the behavior of AI itself, human perception attitudes towards AI, and potential risk points in human-computer interaction. He delved into how AI affects work efficiency and quality, its ability to provide emotional support, and people's perceptions of the differences between AI and humans in this regard, based on his ongoing research.

The second half of the seminar was presided over by Associate Professor Li Ran of BNUBS. Dong Yuntao, Associate Professor of the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, Liu Songbo, Professor of the School of Labor and Personnel of Renmin University of China, and Qian Jing, Professor of BNUBS made keynote speeches respectively.

Dong Yuntao gave a speech on the theme of "The Development of Gigs in the Age of Algorithms". Dong Yuntao first introduced the development status of the gig economy, explored the academic concept of gig work, and pointed out the problems in the development of the gig work profession. Next, she shared two interview studies on gig work. Dong Yuntao pointed out that gig work fundamentally changes people's perception and choices of career development, which requires us to study the career change paths of gig workers from a longer-term perspective. Professor Liu Songbo deeply discussed the rapid development of AI industry and its urgent demand for talents with the theme of "Thinking on HRM Research from a Macro Perspective: Analysis Report on Talents in China's Artificial Intelligence Industry in 2024". Qian Jing gave a thought-provoking speech on the theme of "AI is here, what can I do?" - the breakthrough path for professionals in the algorithmic era. Qian Jing shared her observations and reflections on self media, interpersonal relationships, career development, and other aspects based on her personal experience. Qian Jing reminded everyone to pay more attention to their own lives and happiness in the era of algorithms, rather than excessively pursuing professional success and learn to love yourself, embrace yourself, and have your own life.

The afternoon seminar was divided into three sub venues. The first venue was hosted by Guan Xiaoyu, Associate Professor of the School of Government Management of Beijing Normal University, and commented by Luo Nanfeng, Associate Professor of the School of Labor and Personnel of Renmin University of China. The second session was hosted by Professor Cai Zijun from BNUBS, with Associate Professor Xu Minya from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University and Associate Professor Wang Fuxi from China Agricultural University serving as guest commentators. The third session was hosted by Associate Professor Shang Zhe from the School of Government Management at Beijing Normal University. Associate Professor Gao Ang from the School of Management at Beijing Institute of Technology and Professor Wang Xiaohua from the Department of Psychology at Beijing Normal University provided insightful comments on the presentations made by the students and teachers. After strict screening and careful preparation, scholars from more than ten domestic and foreign universities, including Beijing Institute of Materials Science and Technology, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Huaqiao University, China Agricultural University, Beijing University of Information Science and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Capital University of Economics and Business, etc., had in-depth exchanges on the research topic. They not only put forward constructive opinions, but also shared the latest research progress in their respective fields. The fusion and conflict of viewpoints left every scholar present with desires still wanting more.

This seminar is the second "Algorithm Era and Human Computer Integration Management" seminar held at Beijing Normal University. As the initiator and organizer of the conference, BNUBS aims to provide a platform for information sharing and academic exchange among major universities. Through in-depth exchanges between academia and business, exploring new models of human-computer interaction under algorithmic management can help scholars and businesses in this field understand the academic frontier and have the opportunity for further communication. The successful convening of this conference is of great significance for the development of algorithm and interpersonal integration, as well as the construction of the Business Administration discipline at Beijing Normal University.
