BNUBS Held a 2024 Counselor Assessment Report Meeting

In order to further enhance the standardization, institutionalization, and scientific management level of the counselor team, according to the school's work arrangement, on the afternoon of December 5, 2024, BNUBS held the annual counselor assessment and work report conference at 9406 Jingshi Building. The attendees of this meeting include Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Niu Xiaoyou, Associate Director of the Development Center for Counselors of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee, Hu Conghui, Associate Dean of the School, as well as all class teachers and student representatives of the School. The meeting was chaired by Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the School Party Committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, Niu Xiaoyou, on behalf of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee, expressed gratitude to the full-time and part-time counselors of BNUBS for their support of student work. She stated that the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee provides abundant educational resources and ideological and political education materials, which facilitates the work of full-time and part-time counselors and teachers, guides students to establish correct worldviews, outlooks on life, and values, and cultivates their patriotism and sense of social responsibility. In addition, the Student Work Department of the Party Committee actively coordinates various departments to provide strong support and a broad platform for student work, jointly creating a good environment for the growth and development of students.

Next, Han Lili summarized the overview of the work of the School homeroom teacher this academic year. Dormitory activities have effectively enhanced class cohesion and strengthened relationships among classmates in both class construction and in response to the School's call for one-stop community management. She hoped that all teachers will continue to work hard and further explore the cultural heritage and educational characteristics of Beijing Normal University in the future, integrate them into class construction, and build a more distinctive class culture with Beijing Normal University's characteristics and management features. Teacher Han pointed out that over the past year, all homeroom teachers have been adhering to the concept of "student-centered, prevention oriented", and have carried out their work steadily and regularly. Especially in the face of sudden crises, class teachers responded quickly and handled them appropriately, effectively ensuring the safety and stability of the campus and students. She hoped that all class teachers will continue to provide solid and regular in-depth tutoring in the future, closely monitor students' ideological dynamics and psychological conditions, keep good work records, and further improve work processes. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen communication and exchange with students, timely understand their needs and difficulties, and provide necessary help and support for them.

In order to further strengthen communication and exchange among homeroom teachers, we innovatively held a scenario display section of student work cases for the first time in the annual assessment and performance conference for counselors. The aim is to present and analyze actual cases to enable teachers to have a deeper understanding of the difficulties that students may face in different aspects, so that they can more sensitively detect problems and handle them more properly in their future work, providing stronger support and guidance for students' growth and development. The three assistant performers carefully performed and vividly demonstrated the three problems that students may encounter in their work: career planning, academic planning, and dormitory conflicts. In specific case scenarios, the three homeroom teachers Qian Jing, Li Ran, and Kang Haoran, with their rich experience, fully demonstrated how to effectively communicate and guide students when encountering relevant problems, thereby helping them grow. Their brilliant display and on-site performance drove a lively atmosphere throughout the venue, providing valuable reference examples for teachers and inspiring the innovative thinking and work enthusiasm of class teachers to explore more effective student work methods and strategies together.

Subsequently, the homeroom teachers of the 2021 undergraduate class, 2022 master's class, doctoral class, and 2023 MBA graduation class conducted on-site job reports. The class teachers reported on their participation in relevant training, strengthening ideological guidance, and ensuring safety and stability from the perspectives of morality, ability, diligence, performance, and integrity. They introduced a series of activities carried out by the class and various collective achievement awards obtained, and promised to actively participate in students' learning and life, providing care and guidance in their daily lives. Through personal self-evaluation, student evaluation, and School evaluation, teachers such as Gong Shiyang, Zhang Huilin, Kang Haoran, Chen Chaofan, Wang Wei, Wang Xue, Zhang Huili, Zhu Mengbing, Kong Haiyang, Li Ran, and Wang Lulu have been awarded the title of Outstanding Counselor for 2023-2024.

At the end of the meeting, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Sun Zhijun, made a concluding speech. He first expressed his gratitude to the class teachers: for a long time, the class teachers of BNUBS have firmly adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talents, remembered the responsibilities of class teachers, and silently dedicated themselves to their respective positions, thus forming a complete and strong team of educators. Finally, Secretary Sun, on behalf of the party committee, stated that the School will continue to provide support for the work of class teachers, making the student work team a warmer and more united collective, and achieving brilliant results.

This performance evaluation meeting has promoted mutual communication between class teachers and demonstrated the effectiveness of the School in educating students. In the future, BNUBS will further improve the operation mechanism of student work, guide the entire process of student education management and service with the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, create distinctive brands, and further improve the all-round, multi-level, and three-dimensional education system.
